NATIONAL FAMILY DAY

Did you know that today is National Family Day?!

Sure is, according to my “National Day” calendar, a fun Amazon purchase which always provides for a lot of social media inspiration. 😉

Since today is National Family Day, I thought I would introduce you to mine!

My husband Josh is a career firefighter with over two decades of service. We’ve been married for 19 years, and while we have known each other since we were children, we consider when we met to be at the firehouse when I was taking EMT classes and he gave me a tour of the ambulances.

My oldest son Ben is a senior in high school. I’m still not sure how that happened, yet here we are. He made the courageous switch his freshman year right before spring sports tryouts from baseball to lacrosse (he’d never played before) and the rest, as they say is history. It’s all lacrosse, all the time over here, and he is actively engaged in opportunities to play at the collegiate level. We affectionately call him the “team mom” as he is constantly recruiting new players to his high school team, buying equipment for other kids and holding “clinics”.

Ryan is our classic middle child who gets along with everyone. He loves to have fun, and while he is a talented baseball pitcher, he also plays basketball in the winter, and his brother converted him to lacrosse in the spring. They needed a goalie for the Varsity team, and Ryan stepped up with probably more than a little coercion from his brother. He’s a noticer with a big, kind heart.

Our youngest is Tyler, who happily turned 12 recently. He is an atypical learner who just doesn’t like to do things like everybody else. Moving from public school, to then private school, to now a center for self-directed education has been a game changer for him. He is passionate about what he loves, incredibly creative, and throws around $10 words better than most 40 year olds.

Our house is loud and messy, and usually a bit chaotic. We love our 2 old dogs, Annabell and Abigail, and our 3 crazy cats, Thor, Loki and Hela (can you tell we are Marvel fans?).

Tell me about your family!
