Do Something Good

Can I tell you something?

I’ve been struggling a bit. It seems that everywhere I turn there is sadness and worry and anxiety.

A post I saw today (writing this on Friday) of a young girl in a nearby community losing her battle with cancer brought me to tears.

Another young person died as a result of an accident.

A friend’s daughter with COVID. Multiple contractor friends who are positive as well.

Online battles over racism and whose right and whose lives matter more.

Rudeness. Hatefulness.
Struggling (some closing) local businesses.

Uncertainty, frustration, pontification from so many who don’t even know about how our kids will or won’t (or should or shouldn’t) go back to school in the fall.

I may not show it on the outside, but on the inside I feel all of this (and more) very deeply. Maybe too deeply.

When I feel this way, what works for me most often is to do something good, and so that is your mission (if you choose to accept it) for this week too! I shared this with my Empower Coaching members today on their Plan of the Week as well as with my team, and now I am sharing it with you.

It could be a donation, sending a gift, or even as simple as buying a coffee for the person in line behind you at the drive through. You can do it publicly or anonymously. It could be for a client, a friend, a family member, or someone you don’t even know.

Or maybe, it could be for yourself. Maybe YOU need something good. An hour with your phone turned off. A long walk. Sitting outside watching the birds. You’ll know what feels right.

Get out there and do something good … whose with me??
