Beauty Is Everywhere!

Beauty is everywhere. It’s there, I promise.
Today I’m wrapping up 6 weeks of daily (M-F) radiation treatments (yay!!).
Many things about it have sucked.
1, having the need to do it in the first place.
2, losing two plus hours everyday in the middle of my work day in the middle of a very busy season.
3, burns, itching, pain, discomfort, tiredness.
There’s been some beauty too …
1, getting fully dressed down to the shoes, which hasn’t always been the case this past year in the COVID work from home era. I’m reminded that I have lots of beautiful clothes and accessories that I enjoy wearing.
2, more time in the car for my 40 minutes each day drive has allowed for more time to connect by phone with my friends and team members. Taking time for conversations I haven’t always “had” the time to do have made my drives more fun.
3, the people at the radiation oncology center I go to are wonderful. I truly look forward to seeing them each day, and we usually share a few laughs as we prep for each treatment. Agnes, Becky, Jan, Betsy, Mike, Mitzi … their warmth, kindness, care and attention has made a difference in my life.
4, unbelievable support, love and prayers from friends old and new. Generous gifts, beautiful letters and cards. Even a friend that had a pillow made of “me” so she could take me to Disney. I’ve smiled, laughed and felt loved and supported again and again.
Beauty is everywhere. I promise. You just have to look for it.
