Who’s In Your Circle?

I’ve had a couple experiences recently that reminded me of the power of the people you surround yourself with. In one instance I heard my Client Care Manager Melissa Oliver on the phone with someone talking about things to do to help me build my business. I heard her ask for something that I never would have asked for myself. Or probably wouldn’t have even thought to ask for for myself, but the minute I heard her say it, I knew that it was exactly what I needed.

When you are doing it right, the people around you really get you. They may even see the vision more clearly than you do. It is even possible that they believe in you more than you believe in yourself. In my life, people like Melissa and Vicky and Jackie and others are able to push my dreams and goals forward a bit more bravely than I can. They believe in me … and don’t carry around my baggage. They can push and advocate for things partly because ultimately they don’t have to do it themselves, but mainly because they know (probably more than I do) what I am capable of. Being surrounded by the right people means I get further, faster.

Think about who you have in your circle. It can be your family, your friends, your colleagues, or your support team. They should be your biggest cheerleaders and advocates … and you theirs. Without a doubt, it is the influence that these people have had in my life that has propelled my business and my career forward. They believe in me, even when I don’t.
