Rejection
I’ve been 18 years in real estate, and earlier this week I had a first.
A long time friend messaged me to apologize for not working with me several years prior. She felt like it hurt my feelings (it did) and wanted to apologize.
So I’ll admit, I kind of feel silly that this mattered to me, but it did.
Rejection is part of the business. I’ve had past clients, friends, new clients that I’ve met with choose to work with someone else many times over the years, and it will happen many more times in the future I’m sure. This is the nature of the business.
Most don’t hurt, this one did sting, and so to hear an apology really meant a lot.
